Sadly my camera malfunctioned on Sunday, so many shots were ruined. However, these shots were salvaged. Enjoy.

There is a monthly meeting tonight at 19:00 hrs.  Be at the hall in your Class B uniform.  We will have a special guest, Assemblyman Robin Schimminger, who will be presenting us with the pen that David Paterson used to sign our proposed bill into law.

Family Fun Night!

September 12, 2009 in Social | Comments (0)

Family Fun Night on Sept 12th, 2009 was fun, as the name would suggest.  The night started off with Bernie fighting with our digital sign, trying to get it to work.  Eventually he figured it out and we began thinking up many new messages which the sign could say.

Eventually we ate a glorious meal, and moved out to the fire pit, where we set up a nice ‘cooking fire’.

Things got a little crazy… At times.

And of course things got hot (and sweaty)…

Scott ended up getting his bunker gear to roast hotdogs with, and mend the fire, while Bernie decided that a cardboard heat shield would protect him well enough from the radiant heat. Luckily for him, it worked! Sadly the hot dog pictured in this photo was in the heat for far too long, (about 30 seconds) and ended up coming out completely burnt.

All in all, it was a fun night, and lots of laughs were had. Would of been more fun, I am sure if more people showed up.

Welcome to River Road Volunteer Fire Companies new website.

We are still working things out, and setting things up.  Please be patient.

Feel free to register.  If you are a member of the company, let me know who ya are.

Complete:

  • Theme seems to fit well, however can change it if desired.
  • Analytics set up for site tracking – confirmed
  • Copied Information from Wikipedia.
  • We are on Google search.

To Do:

    • Add History, Photos, Contacts, etc…
    • Add Links to local services.
    • Add a How To guide

How will we become searchable?  Well for one, we need to have content.   If we provide historical photos,  member photos and group photos, that will be a start.  Also, spreading the link around anywhere we can will help.  Honestly, if this is the top result when you search ‘River Road VFC’ we wont have any issues.  Considering that video just has 39 views.

It will take some time, but it will be the top result if we continue to add content.

Linking to local services will also help – as in web curtosy, they should link back to us somehow. Mind you that doesn’t always happen.

The How To Guide will be a guide to describe how to post and use this website, in order to produce the best results.

Hopefully you like it so far :)
